NEPAD Nigeria has developed programmes that would empower women and youths to get them involved in rebranding Nigeria and developing the country. The National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. (Princess) Gloria Akobundu disclosed this when the Win Win Women of Nigeria visited her in her office.
The NC/CEO of NEPAD in her speech expressed delight that the Win Win Women of Nigeria identified with NEPAD by showing solidarity with the government of the day and assured them that being an Association that deals with the grassroots people, NEPAD Nigeria was willing to partner with them in order to take NEPAD programmes to the grassroots.
Princess Akobundu noted that women have great potentials and referred to them as "Best Managers", "Best Leaders" and 'Best Peace Makers' in the world. She reminded the group that God created women to be helpmates to their husbands, but that women should extend that help to our country, Nigeria. She told the Win Win Women of Nigeria to take this good message that Nigeria is rebranding back to their various States and urged them to always think of what to contribute to make Nigeria better.
She further stated that women need to get involved in the Change Agenda of the present Administration, realizing that, with the support of women, the government will make great difference.
Earlier, in her speech to the NEPAD NC/CEO, National President of the Win Win Women of Nigeria, Chief (Mrs.) Celestina Ufele, had expressed their support for and solidarity with the NC/CEO of NEPAD Nigeria. She stated that the group sought to identify with her vision to reposition NEPAD Nigeria for better results and that they were confident in her ability to deliver on the expectations of President Muhammadu Buhari who had appointed her into office.
Chief Ufele requested that the Win Win Women of Nigeria be given the opportunity to collaborate and partner with NEPAD Nigeria to enable women and the youth of the nation take their rightful place in national development.
