Title 1. Rural Farmers Programmes

Short description
NEPAD Imo State embarked on touring the entire 637 autonomous communities across the State to collate and ascertain the number of practical farmers existing in the various communities and actively assist them in growing and developing their farms to their benefits and the entire State at large.

After the State wide tour, Farmers were divided in batches and trained in the following areas-
A) Poultry Establishment and Sustenance
B) Fishery Management and Marketing
C) Animal Husbandry

The major benefits of this Programme are-
A) A comprehensive database of all the practical farmers in the State has been captured by Imo NEPAD
B) The empowerment has given a facelift to the entire State with regards to agriculture

Title 2. Youth/Women Empowerment

Short description As part of checking unemployment and youth restiveness, NEPAD Imo State embarked on empowering youth and women on various skills acquisition in the following areas-
A) Bakery/Confectionaries (Bread, Chin-Chin, Meat Pie, Spring Roll etc.)
B) Household Detergents (Liquid Soap, Bleach, Odour Controls etc.)

This programme is aimed at alleviating poverty and making them self reliant. So far more than 600 youths and women have been trained, more are still waiting to be trained as our target is to get all unemployed youths empowered with various skills
